Construction

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Pune Region is having 54 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas' as on date covering Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa and U.Ts of Daman, Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli. Of these 54 JNVs, 31 are situated in Maharashtra, 18 in Gujrat, 2 in Goa and 3 in U.Ts.

Of the 31 JNVs in Maharashtra, 19 have full fledged campus with only repair works/Sp. Repair works to attend. 10 JNVs (Buldana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Latur, Nagpur, Pune, Raigad, Thane, Yavatmal) are having different works such as Phase B or II, Balance Works and Staff Quarters et_. to be completed Isanctioned. 2 JNVs (Ratnagiri, Akola) are running in temporary accommodation. Only one JNV (Parbhani) is to start functioning due to non-availability of temporary accommodation. 4 Districts remain uncovered. Of these 4, 2 are in Mumbai and other 2 have proposals for selection of site at advanced stage. There were 4 Construction Agencies of which NBCC, RPNN, NIDC have been' withdrawn from allotting works and only CPWD is being entrusted with works at present.

There are 18 JNVs in Gujarat only 8 Vidyalayas are having completed campus with repairs and Sp. Repairs to be attended. 7 JNVs (Banaskantha, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, Jamnagar, Patan, Rajkot) are having different works such as Phase B, Balance Works and Staff Quarters etc. to be completedl sanctioned. 3 JNVs (Mehsana, Panchmahal, Vadodara) are running in temporary accommodation. Only one JNV (Dangs) is sanctioned but yet to start functioni'ng due to non­availability of temporary accommodation. 6 Districts remain uncovered. Of these 6, 3 are yet to come up with suitable land proposal and other 3 have proposals for selection of sit_ at advanced stage. There were 4 Construction Agencies of which GSCC, NBCC, GNFC have been withdrawn and only CPWD is being entrusted with works at present.

In Goa we have 2 JNVs and one NLI. Both JNVs are functioning at Permanent site. But, both the vidyalayas does not hav'e complete campus. There are 3 Construction Agencies i.e., NBCC, KLAC and CPWD.

All the 3 Union Territories (Daman, Diu & Dadra Nagar Haveli) are having full fledged campus with only B class rooms and 2 labs for up to class X only. Repair works, development of play fields etc. are to be attended. There were 2 Construction Agencies i.e., GSCC and CPWD.

Two JNVs (Akola, Dangs) have been accorded sanction for preconstruction activities for' Phase A. 3 JNVs (Parbhani, Mehsana, Vqdodara) are yet to be sanctioned Phase A. 6 JNVs (Banaskantha, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, Pune, Raigad, Thane) require Phase B to be sanctioned so that they can be upgraded to Category A(BO intake).

Annual Maintenance & repair

  • White wash, Colour Wash, Painting etc.
  • Cleaning of terrace tanks, OHT,UGS.
  • Repairs to damaged (patch)- plaster, flooring,Compound wall, development work etc.
  • Septic tank cleaning & removal solids(twice a year).
  • Cleaning of rain water Pipes, SW drains etc.

Special repairs

  • Repl. Of damaged electrical wiring.
  • Repl. Of damaged HDPE Pipe.
  • Const. Of new soak pit if old has to be abandoned.
  • Repl. Of damaged HDPE tanks.
  • Re-carpeting of road surface and repair of concrete paths, SW drains etc.
  • Repairs to leakage of roof.


Day to day maintenance

  • Maintaining of -W/s Scheme, Running Pump set, Treating, Storing & distributing water etc.
  • Attending to leakages in Pipes, taps & other fittings on immediate basis.
  • Clearing of Chock age of Sewer lines, toilets, bath rooms etc.
  • Replacement of damaged W/s, Sanitary & electrical fittings.
  • Repair of tube well Pumping set.
  • Maintenance of Generator set to keep it in running condition.
  • Maintenance RGSV & grass/flower beds in and around buildings.
  • Any other item if found essential.
  • Engaging Labour for the above purpose through a registered Contractor of Central/State Govt.

Cat.A – Rs.One lacs per year

CBRI – Phase 0, I, II or CPWD – Phase A&B.

Cat.B – Rs.80 thousand per year.

Allocation of funds for Annual Repairs & Maintenance

Rs.2 lacs per Vidyalaya (CPWD pattern) and Rs. 3.5 lacs as per vidyalaya (CBRI pattern) decided by the Hqrs directly to the Principal.

Others shall continue to prepare an estimate for accord of sanction by competent authority and the funds shall be placed directly to the CA(who prepared the estimate) or Principal depending on the CA.

Allocation of funds for Special repairs

In case CA is fixed by the Chairman of VMC funds are given to DD,RO/Principal.

Day to day Maintenance

  • Procurement of Materials.

Full requirement for the quarter – first month.

Stock Register shall be maintained item wise.

Each page shall be initialed by the Principal.

Physical verification shall be done by the Principal twice every year and observations recorded.

Material shall be of approved make and of NVS specification.

Phase A

 Maintenance of External Electrification

       Once in a year it shall be got inspected by the SEB authority and   certify for necessary action for keeping it in healthy working condition. Report to be submitted to RO in 1st week of JULY every year.

Area lighting and street lights are two different aspects

Servicing of Gen. Set at regular intervals depending on usage through authorised dealer.
